Congratulations Mindanao Independent Filmmakers!

We are pleased to announce that our colleague in Micromedia Film Productions, Ms. Monalyn Bechaida Labado, got through in CINEMALAYA with her film “A step for my dream” which she wrote and directed, edited by Fernand Salinas (yours truly hehehe). Shot in Paglat, Maguindanao. It tells the story of a simple boy with grand plans for their community when he becomes Mayor someday. It also featured the said community, being one of the areas of Local Government Service Program of ARMM or LGSPA. Her film was previously awarded 2nd place among the eight independent films done by Mindanao filmmakers for LGSPA, co-produced by Teng Mangansakan II at Notre Dame University, Cotabato City. “Biniton” shot in Saniag, Maguindanao won 3rd place and Best Community Story also by Micromedia Productions written by Sharon Mae delos Santos and directed by McRobert Nacario, edited by Michael Angelo Nacario and of course yours truly, the sound director, hehehe! Sheron Dayoc won 1st place (grand prize) in the LGSPA contest with his film “Angan²” (dreams) shot in a town of Zamboanga.

The above mentioned shortfilms was shown last World Premier of KONTRA-AGOS RESISTANCE FILM FESTIVAL. Kontra-Agos Resistance Film Festival Runs from December 5-11 at the Indie Sine, Robinson's Galleria, Ortigas. Kontra-Agos is an initiative of ST Exposure and Digital Cheese in cooperation with UP SILIP, Sine Tres Marias, and Independent Filmmakers Cooperative.
